All the wines will be adjudicated by panels comprising selected local and international wine experts who reach consensus on which wines are worthy of Veritas fame. The adjudication takes place from 17 to 21 September 2007 at the Nederburg Auction Complex.

Only wines of exceptional quality are honoured with a double gold award – a mere 3% of last year’s entries attained this status. “From a consumer perspective, Veritas is the biggest and most widely recognised wine competition in South Africa. A double gold award substantially boosts wine sales and has a tremendously positive impact on the image of the brand,” comments Duncan Savage, Veritas achiever and winemaker at Cape Point Vineyards.

The Veritas Awards, the biggest independent wine competition for market ready wines in South Africa, has been presented by the South Africa Wine Show Association (SANW) for the past 16 years in the interest of promoting the wine industry.

The results will be announced on 13 October 2007 at a gala dinner in the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). The distinctive Veritas symbol of excellence will be displayed on winning wines serving as an authoritative quality guideline to wine lovers.
